2010


Redwoods Media Is Founded
Vidyard, then Redwoods Media, is founded by Michael and Devon. It is the first video production company that offers video hosting, analytics, and performance guarantees.
2011


Redwoods Media Becomes Vidyard
Envisioning the future needs of customers, the potential of video, and the power of analytics, Redwoods Media officially becomes Vidyard, focusing exclusively on video marketing technology.


Vidyard Graduates from Y Combinator
Turn that tassle! Vidyard graduates from the Y Combinator program (a “startup boot-camp”) under the mentorship of Paul Graham and the YC Partnership.


Vidyard Raises Seed Round
Vidyard raises $1.65 million from SoftTech VC, Y Combinator, SV Angel, Andreeson Horowitz, iNovia Capital, Jawed Karim (one of the YouTube co-founders!), and others.

Raises Series A of $6 million from OMERS Ventures, iNovia Capital, SoftTech VC and Jill Rowley. Vidyard focuses on expanding research and development, marketing budgets, and employee numbers, with a new office in downtown Kitchener to support around 35 total employees through the rest of the year.
